The new variety "Tianjin Lychee" grapes independently cultivated in Tianjin municipality are being planted in Ninghe district.
These grapes, with a rare "lychee flavor", are expected to hit the market as early as next year.
The new variety "Tianjin Lychee" grapes
The "Tianjin Lychee" grape, developed by the Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Sciences for more than a decade, is a new variety selected from thousands of grape hybrid varieties. In addition to its lychee-like flavor, it exhibits the features of stronger disease- and pest-resistance compared to existing grape varieties.
Ninghe district, with its abundant water resources and suitable soil and climate conditions, is highly conducive to grape cultivation. Currently, common grape varieties in the market mainly feature rose, strawberry, and jasmine aromas. Grapes with a lychee aroma are relatively rare, presenting a broader market prospect.
