Tianjin's Ninghe district is a national demonstration zone for ecological civilization construction, with the most valuable being ecological resources. Relying on ecological advantages, Ninghe district is fostering four local ecology-based industries to promote the economic and social development of the region.
Ninghe is anchored in the development direction of "ecology + scientific innovation" industry. This year, it has collaborated with multiple renowned institutions and universities on 24 cooperation projects related to talent introduction and achievement transformation. Meanwhile, it has launched 95 new projects, with the most representative one being the Low-Altitude Economic Innovation Industrial Park.
Ecology and agriculture are the greatest strengths of Ninghe district. Focusing on high-end ecological agriculture, Ninghe has established the first national-level modern agricultural industrial park in Tianjin. Last year, the total agricultural output value in the district reached 8.2 billion yuan ($1.27 billion).
In addition, Ninghe enjoys a profound historical and cultural heritage. Leveraging its ecological resource advantages, Ninghe is continuously promoting the deep integration of agriculture, culture, sports, commerce, and tourism, creating more than 20 distinctive cultural and tourism destinations in the area. The added value of the cultural and tourism industry accounts for 2.5 percent of the region's GDP. This year, the district will focus on building the Qilihai Wetland International Education Center, which is expected to be the first ecological education center in the country based on the theme of the ancient coastal wetlands.
Meanwhile, Ninghe has also been vigorously developing the "ecology + events" cluster. So far this year, it has held a series of high-profile events and competitions, including the Qilihai Music Festival and Qilihai Half Marathon. In the future, it will launch more activities on important occassions such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day to attract more visitors from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
