Located at the geometric center of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Tianjin's Ninghe district has favorable conditions for developing the "silver-haired economy" (the economy built around supplying products and services for the elderly) as its customer base can radiate throughout the entire Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Ninghe's ecological advantage is its most powerful asset for the development of its "silver-haired economy". The area's Qilihai Wetland is known as the "green lung of Beijing and Tianjin". Together with the construction of a dual-city green barrier, more than 70 percent of days per year in Ninghe have excellent air quality.

At present, Ninghe district has planned 42 projects with a total investment of 21.07 billion yuan ($2.9 billion), including the construction of an integrated new system intelligent healthcare and medical services for the elderly, the development of healthcare towns and senior apartments, the promotion of barrier-free facilities in the public spaces, the establishment of a smart elderly care service platform and projects to improve the quality of food for the elderly.
Among these projects, the improvement of food for the elderly will take advantage of the resources presented by the agricultural and seed industry of Ninghe district.
