Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei fishing competition opens in Ninghe

The 2023 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Leisure Fishing Competition (Tianjin’s Ninghe Station) was held in Xiangxieyuan, Beihuaidian town, Ninghe district, Tianjin on Oct 29.

A total of 180 fishing lovers from the three regions participated in the competition. Officials from the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Sports, Beijing Fishing Association, Tianjin Fishing Association, Hebei Fishing Association, and relevant leaders of Ninghe district attended the opening ceremony.

The competition focused on hand rod fishing for mixed fish. There are two rounds of matches, each lasting 70 minutes. After intense competition, Tianjin’s candidate Fang Wei won the championship with a total score of 3 points and a total weight of 36.9 kilograms.

Ninghe district has the Qilihai Wetland, one of the three largest ancient coastal wetlands in the world, with 5 national first-class rivers and 12 second-class rivers. It also has a total area of 54,300 mu of freshwater aquaculture and 207,500 mu of integrated rice-fish farming, with an annual output of 56,000 tons of aquatic products.

The event is the first official fishing competition held by the Ninghe district, taking advantage of its abundant high-quality water resources and the development advantages of the fishing industry.

Ninghe district will continue to plan sports events for the year 2024, combining resources in agriculture, culture, tourism, commerce, and ecology to explore new paths for the integrated development of the sport.
