The technological research and development team of New Tianjin Tiangang United Special Steel Co., Ltd. has been working on further improving its "hot steel slag online recycling" technology, which was independently developed and applied by the company last year, in a bid to promote its realization of low-carbon transformation.
"In the past, the steel slag was discarded after use, which would cause environmental pollution. Our research team has worked on this issue and ultimately achieved the online recycling of hot steel slag through innovation. This is also conducive to building a green factory for the company, "said Ma Guifen, head of the technical department of the steel plant of New Tianjin Tiangang United Special Steel.

New Tianjin Tiangang United Special Steel has always taken technological innovation as a green development engine, implementing energy-saving and environmental protection transformation in all aspects, and promoting more scientific and technological achievements to be applied in the company. The “development of key technologies for hot steel slag online recycling” project, which takes the reduction of carbon emission as the goal, received first prize in the 2022 China Innovation Method Competition.

"The R&D team has closely focused on the company's goal of building a green low-carbon steel factory, and constantly conducted research on new technologies and processes, so as to utilize technological innovation and break through some technical difficulties in low-carbon steelmaking," said Cui Meng, the head of the scientific research department of the Technical Center of the company.
Going forward, Ninghe district will continue to give full play to the role of technological innovation in improving local competitiveness, optimizing the innovation environment, encouraging local enterprises to invest in technological R&D, and completing the construction of the technological innovation system, in a bid to realize the low-carbon and green development of the traditional manufacturing industry.
