On Oct 20, four officials visited and made an investigation on the Beijing-Tianjin cooperation demonstration area and the Beihuaidian town in Ninghe. They were Bai Fengxiang, secretary of the CPC Ninghe District Committee; Hui Bing, deputy secretary of the CPC Ninghe District Committee and head of the district; Zhang Yongqin, director of the Standing Committee of the CPC Ninghe District Committee; and Qi Zhongyong, chairman of the CPPCC Ninghe District Committee.
The Beijing-Tianjin cooperation demonstration area is managed by Tianjin Future Science and Technology City. It has a total planned area of 38.07 square kilometers. At present, an area of 11.8 square kilometers has been added during construction. It has an accumulated investment of over 10 billion yuan (about $1.4 billion).
Bai pointed out that the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei development is a major national strategy. Ninghe will continue to give full play to the advantages of the local ecological resources, strengthen the integration and coordination, deepen the cooperation mechanism, and accelerate the integrated development of production, life and ecology in the demonstration area.

The Tianjin branch of FAW Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd., located in Tianjin Future Science and Technology City, covers an area of 1.08 million square meters, with a total investment of 19.5 billion yuan. The planned production capacity is 1,200 vehicles per day and 300,000 vehicles per year. Bai said that the related department of the local government should extend the industrial chain, speed up the cultivation of automobile industry clusters, and eventually build an automobile industry with strong innovation ability.

The Beihuaidian demonstration town project, with an overall planning area of 8.97 square kilometers, mainly provides business and living supporting services for the industrial development of Tianjin Future Science and Technology City. The project will actively develop modern services, health care, cultural tourism and other industries, which can not only solve unemployment, but also expand the collective income and drive the upgrading of regional industries.
Bai Fengxiang added that Ninghe should adhere to the integrated development of the four major business goals of "production, living, education and tourism", further optimizing the business environment and enhancing development vitality.
