Updated : 2022-03-01

The 627,700-square meter Trade Development Zone of Ninghe district was established in 1992 in the north of Ninghe district. Located in the hinterland of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan metropolitan area, it is adjacent to the 205 National Road, Jingshan Railway and a number of highway entrances and exits. It is 185 kilometers from Beijing, 70 kilometers from Tianjin, 45 kilometers from Tangshan, and 45 kilometers from Tianjin Port, and features a superior geographical location and excellent economic environment.

The trade development zone has complete supporting facilities for catering, entertainment, accommodation, communication, information, finance, medical care services, and schools. Over the years, to realize market growth and provide services for businesses, it has reconstructed and expanded the market area, improved the market business environment, and increased market functions; changing from an open-air business model to a closed, store-style professional wholesale market.

The trade development zone consists of four areas: a commodity sales building area, a non-staple food and aquatic products wholesale market, a Lutai market, and a vegetable wholesale market.

The commodity sales building area houses more than 350 merchants, running businesses of tobacco and alcohol, beverages, grain and oil, non-staple food, and small goods.

The non-staple food and aquatic products market, covering an area of 23,200 square meters, consists of two large trading halls with a construction area of 7,160 square meters and a commodity sales building with an area of 6,140 square meters. The market operates businesses of fruit, aquatic products, port meat, eggs, meat products, seasonings, and soy products.

The Lutai Market features stall business on the Binshui East Road and Changfa Road on the third and eighth day of each month of the lunar calendar. Its products include clothing, shoes, hats, daily necessities, knitted cotton fabrics, grain and feed, agricultural and sideline products, and flowers.

The vegetable wholesale market, covering an area of 20,000 square meters, has a trading hall with an area of 3,040 square meters. It has over 200 stalls, selling vegetables, non-staple food, and seasonings.

The trade development zone in Ninghe district is a State-owned agricultural product wholesale market designated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China. Over 20 years of development, it has provided urban and rural residents with increasing volumes of vegetables and grain products, and promoted commodity circulation and the rapid development of the tertiary industry in Ninghe. It serves as an influential commodity distribution center that covers the northeastern part of Tianjin and several other districts and counties, making due contributions to the economic development of the region.
