As autumn sets in, farmers across orchards, ponds, and fields in Tianjin's Ninghe district are busy harvesting.

In Xuehaopu village, Banqiao town, the air is filled with the sweet scent of crown pears. The village's pear orchards now cover nearly about 200 mu (13 hectares). The village's soil is rich in selenium and strontium, making the pears naturally rich in these elements and popular in the market.

In Yangzhuang village, Miaozhuang town, a peach orchard covering 400 mu has entered harvest season. Standardized management yields 2,500 kilograms per mu. The peaches are large, thin-skinned, crisp, and sweet, and can be stored at room temperature for about 15 days, making them easy to transport.

In Yuelong town, farmers are digging sweet potatoes. The town's Hongyao sweet potatoes are in high demand every year. Some go to markets, some to processing plants, and some are packaged as gift boxes and sold overseas under a brand.

In Bohou village, lotus roots have matured under layers of leaves. Nearby, water bamboo grows lushly. Water bamboo yields 1,500 kg per mu and sells to Jiangsu and Guangzhou, while lotus roots yield 1,750 to 2,000 kg per mu and supply Tianjin, Beijing, and other places.
